This was a long time coming, but it's a decision that took over a year to come to. I'm going to stop DJing. Kinda. More like I quit my residency at FANdom Con, and will no longer take any gigs from here on out. I will be trying to work on my unfinished project, though. The reason for quitting is very long winded, and not worth typing here.
The last time I uploaded a mix from FANdom was year 4. I was pretty proud of that mix, but it was a redo from what actually happened at the convention. This is a straight recording from my set, including my microphone. I tried to also get an audio only version, but, of course, I forgot to press record on that one.
Anywho, the mix. This was a slightly pre-made mix. Meaning about 90% of the songs I played during this set was predetermined (not pre-made). Reason for this should be obvious in my opinion. I wanted to leave FANdom Con with the best set I could do, along with doing what I usually do with my projects. Put my emotions into my art. They deserved that much and more.
"When I first started DJing, all I wanted to do was to play live and make a large group of people dance. (Just dance and forget about the troubles outside of the walls of the venue.) FANdom made my very simple dream come true without much hesitation. While driving home after FANdom's first rave, I wept the entire way home. My simple dream was accomplished. And the day after, after EVERY rave of EVERY year at FANdom, there's so many people that come to me and say how much they enjoyed my set. This mix is for those people. My name is DJ Ryudo, and this, my last mix and concert, is my thank you, and goodbye."
